Alternatives, Inc. in Raritan, NJ is seeking a part-time Recreation Coordinator to support Somerset county programs as part of a pilot initiative. The role pays $25.00 per hour, involves weekend shifts, and includes paid training and a range of employee perks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record (background checks required).
• Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and a drug screen.
• Clear TB screening is required.
• Ability to pass and maintain CPR/First aid training and other required trainings.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and locate recreation events that meet client needs and visibility for the Agency.
• Meet with clients to determine leisure interests and capabilities.
• Coordinate transportation and supervision of clients on recreation events.
• Budget and safekeeping of recreation monies; submit vouchers for supervisor approval.
• Provide skill training in social skills such as appropriate public behavior.
• Fill out all necessary employment forms.
• Ensure security and confidentiality of all agency records.

Job Location: LEGAL ADDRESS - RARITAN, NJ 08869, Position Type: Part Time, Salary Range: $25.00 - $25.00 Hourly, Job Shift: Split Shift, Alternatives, Inc. is looking to hire a part-time Recreation Coordinator for Somerset county programs as part of a pilot program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Develops and locates recreation events that meet the needs of the clients and, in some cases, bring visibility to the Agency
• Meets with clients to determine leisure time/recreational interests and capabilities
• Coordinates and provide transportation and supervision of clients on recreation events
• Responsible for budgeting and safekeeping of recreation monies and charges. Also, maintain accurate records of expenditures, submit vouchers for approval to supervisor.
• Provides skill training in social skills areas such as appropriate public behavior, etc.
• Fill out all necessary employment forms
• Ensures security and confidentiality of all assigned Alternatives, Inc. records

SCHEDULE

16 hours per week; primarily weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Schedules are determined by programmatic needs and maintained by assigned supervisor.

TRAINING

All employees are required to complete 10-15 trainings upon hire and on an ongoing basis. Trainings are a combination of in person, which require staff to commute to the main office in Raritan NJ, and remote, using Go To Meeting. All trainings are paid.
