Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including medication administration, cooking meals, personal hygiene, and transportation to medical appointments.
• Implement individual behavioral plans and provide effective teaching and mentoring techniques to help residents achieve new skills and goals.
• Encourage residents to participate in community outings and recreational activities.
• Document health, safety, and service delivery accurately and keep records up-to-date.

Work Schedule

Shift hours are available on the following days:

• Sunday: 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm
• Monday: Off
• Tuesday: Off
• Wednesday: 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm
• Thursday: 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm
• Friday: 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm
• Saturday: 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Training

All employees are required to complete 10-15 trainings upon hire and on an ongoing basis. Trainings are a combination of in-person sessions that require staff to commute to the main office in Raritan, NJ, and remote sessions using GoToMeeting. All trainings are paid.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and a drug screen
• Clear tuberculosis (TB) screening
• Ability to pass and maintain required trainings such as CPR/first aid, medication administration, and positive behavioral support training
• Basic computer skills
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities is preferred, but not required. Compassion, strong communication and interpersonal skills, calmness in challenging situations, and a desire to make a difference are essential.
