Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of recreation facilities and general programming.
• Ability to work with children, youth, and adults.
• Knowledge of sports and general rules.
• Knowledge of first aid principles and practices.
• Ability to develop activities with a multi-cultural community.
• Ability to enforce recreation, program, and sporting regulations.
• Establishing and maintaining effective relationships.
• Strong customer service principles and written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement programs at recreation centers for adults, teens, children, and the community.
• Lead activities, demonstrate sports techniques, and teach game rules.
• Assist with after school programs and manage program logistics.
• Maintain attendance, ID cards issued, and other daily records.
• Provide information to participants and the public about programs and classes.
• Handle registrations, schedules, phones, and petty cash handling.
• Transport youth to field trips and events for recreation activities.
• Instruct and enforce safety rules during activities.
• Support outreach, marketing, and distribution of program materials.
