Job summary

The City of Fayetteville is seeking a Recreation Center Supervisor to develop, plan, organize, implement, oversee and promote a broad range of activities and programs at an assigned recreation center, manage budget, supervise staff, and ensure safe, welcoming facilities.

You will recruit instructors and volunteers, coordinate classes and events, and maintain records and reports to support center operations for residents of all ages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in recreation administration, physical education, business administration, or related field.
• Valid driver's license and ability to maintain insurability.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications within one year of hire.
• Experience in recreation program planning and administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize, schedule, coordinate, administer and supervise a wide variety of recreation classes, leisure activities and special events for all ages.
• Select, train, motivate and evaluate personnel for the center; provide staff training and evaluate performance.
• Implement and enforce policies, procedures, goals, objectives, and schedules for center management.
• Answer questions and provide information to the public about programs; investigate complaints and take corrective actions.
• Receive and reconcile program fees; monitor revenue and coordinate with administration to correct financial imbalances.
• Conduct surveys to determine needs and satisfaction; maintain records and prepare reports.
• Prepare marketing materials and maintain the center webpage with current information.
• Recruit and vet instructors, coaches, and volunteers; provide training and recognize volunteers.
• Oversee routine maintenance of the recreation center and coordinate major repairs.
• Ensure the assigned budget and forecast funds; monitor expenditures.

Education
