Job summary

The City of Springdale is seeking a custodian to clean and maintain the Recreation Center, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for users. You will perform cleaning duties, assist with events, and maintain supplies and equipment.

You must have a high school diploma or GED and related experience. The role requires reliable attendance, good customer service, and basic handyman skills such as changing bulbs and minor repairs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 7–11 months related experience or training.
• Proficiency in vacuum cleaners and buffing machine.
• Ability to work with internal/external resources to complete routine assignments and special projects.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain the Recreation Center to provide a safe environment for users.
• Provide good customer service to internal and external customers and maintain reliable attendance.
• Dust, clean, wash, and vacuum all areas of the facility; wax, polish, and buff floors.
• Replenish restroom supplies and wash windows, walls, and metal/woodwork.
• Remove litter around buildings and grounds; inspect and maintain custodial equipment.
• Repair small mechanical equipment and perform basic handyman duties such as changing light bulbs.
• Open and unlock facilities as needed; inventory and restock supplies with Facilities Manager.
• Assist with special events and tournaments; perform other duties as required.
