Summary: As a Camp Counselor, you will support the Camp Director in leading fun and engaging camp activities while ensuring the safety and well-being of campers by following the policies and procedures outlined in the Camp Manual. You'll take charge of a group of campers each day, fostering creativity and teamwork through exciting projects, games, and activities. Weekly adventures could include sports, free swim, beach outings, and chaperoning field trips. Placement will be assigned based on your preferences, availability, and the needs of the Park District, with additional questions in the application to help guide the best fit for you.

Qualifications: Must be 16 years old or older and interested in working with children in a recreational camp setting. Must have a positive and energetic attitude when working with campers. Prior experience working with youth is preferred but not required. Must be able to get in the water (pool or lake) for recreational swim time with campers.

Classification: Seasonal, non-exempt

Wage Range: $15.50 per hour

Benefits: Access to some recreation facility usage.

Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and talking or hearing. Occasional use of hands to handle or feel; reaching with hands and arms; climbing or balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; tasting or smelling. Occasionally lifting/moving up to 25 pounds.

Working Conditions: Mostly outdoors, exposed to weather conditions including heat, humidity, cold, and rain. Moderate noise level.
