Job summary

The City of Harrisonburg is seeking a part-time Recreation Attendant Senior in Facilities to lead during unsupervised hours, ensuring professional, informative interactions with citizens and guests. You will oversee safety and well-being of program areas, patrons and staff, and promote Parks & Recreation offerings.

You may lead or assist with programs and activities, and handle office equipment and software for data entry, transaction processing, daily receipt reconciliation and financial record

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of experience in a customer service position or recreational environment.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver's license.
• CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications required within the first three months of employment.

The Recreation Attendant Senior - Facilities position is a year-round part-time position (no benefits) and a preferred hiring rate of $17.92 per hour; however, an exact salary will be dependent upon the selected candidate's qualifications/experience and in compliance with City policy.

When you join our team as a Recreation Attendant Senior in Facilities, you'll take the lead during unsupervised hours, ensuring that all customer interactions - whether in person or by phone - are professional and informative. Additionally, you'll be responsible for overseeing the safety and well-being of program areas, patrons, and staff, promoting Parks & Recreation offerings, leading or assisting with a variety of programs and activities, and handling office equipment and software for routine data entry, transaction processing, daily receipt reconciliation, and financial record preparation.

• High school diploma or GED and moderate (1-3 years) experience in a customer service position or a recreational environment
• At least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver's license.
• CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications required within the first three months of employment.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule to meet business requirements, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
