Job summary

The City of Harrisonburg's Parks and Recreation Department is hiring a part-time Recreation Attendant - Facilities to greet patrons, answer questions about programs and events, and connect community members with resources. You will process payments, issue receipts, balance daily cash, maintain records, and operate office equipment to support safe, welcoming facility experiences.

Candidates must be at least 16, completed tenth grade (HS diploma or GED preferred); CPR/AED and First Aid

Qualifications

• Completion of the tenth grade and minimal experience in a customer service position required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 16 years of age.
• CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications required within the first three months of employment.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings/nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patrons, answer questions about programs, services and events.
• Help connect community members with resources they need.
• Process payments, issue receipts, balance daily cash and maintain records.
• Use office equipment and computer systems to support facility operations.
• Promote upcoming events and monitor facility activity to ensure a safe, welcoming space.
