Duties
- Provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment, ensuring all customers and co-workers are treated respectfully. Be an enthusiastic problem solver.
- Ensure all certifications stay current and attend all required courses and in-service training mandated by Fort Bliss and MWR.
- Manage staff schedules and shifts to provide optimal coverage and adhere to budget constraints, considering season, events, and daily operations.
- Respond immediately to maintenance needs by notifying the supervisor or pool operator on duty, calling in a work order if needed, and documenting in the logbook.
- Assist in planning and executing weekly and monthly in-service trainings.
Requirements
- Must have direct deposit setup and a Social Security Card.
- Meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete employment verification (E-Verify).
- Subject to all pre-employment checks as per AR 215-3, including a Tier 1 background investigation.
- Maintain a current health assessment indicating good physical health and freedom from communicable diseases, in accordance with Army policy.
- Be exposed to sun, high temperatures, and humidity for extended periods.
- If exposed to infectious diseases, obtain Hepatitis B vaccination within 24 hours.
- Lifeguards must have good vision (corrected if necessary) to recognize emergencies and rule violations effectively.
- Follow environmental safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment as required.
- May be assigned to irregular duties or special recreational events.
- Work hours may include weekends, holidays, and night shifts.
- Fifteen-year-old lifeguards must comply with DOL Child Labor Law restrictions (Jan 17, 2006).
- Additional background checks may be required for those with regular contact with children.
- All certifications must be kept current.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:

- American Red Cross Lifeguard certification or equivalent (e.g., Ellis & Associates).
- American Red Cross CPR-Pro certification or equivalent.
