About the position: This position is Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation at Langley Air Force Base, VA.
This is a Temporary Flexible position, not to exceed 1 October 2025. There are no guaranteed hours, however the employee may be scheduled 0 to 40 hours per week. Who May Apply: Open to everyone. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Have prior experience as a lifeguard and have knowledge of pool safety and pool maintenance requirements. Must have prior training or experience which demonstrates leadership abilities. Must have approved and current nationally recognized certification in lifesaving and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid training, and CPR (both child and adult) training.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted. Satisfactory completion of installation records checks, state and national criminal background checks may be required for positions that provide lifesaving duties for children. Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment physical. Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required.
