Base pay range

$15.00/yr - $17.50/yr

Duties
  • Perform tasks and assist in the operation and maintenance of recreation facilities and equipment.
  • Test boating equipment for safety; perform minor preventative maintenance on boat motors and other boating gear.
  • Lead small groups in recreational activities such as boating, water skiing, kayaking, hiking, camping, biking, and fishing.
  • Serve as a group leader on outdoor adventure trips as determined by the supervisor.
  • Provide information and rules on outdoor activities; demonstrate safe equipment usage.
  • Inspect rented equipment, assess damages, and prepare reports; perform minor repairs.
  • Schedule reservations for pavilions and lodging; handle transactions related to rentals and reservations.
  • Operate point-of-sale systems; manage retail merchandise sales and displays.
  • Assist with inventories, documentation, and computer software use.
  • Act as shift leader when needed; train lower graded personnel; operate government vehicles if required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Background investigation and suitability for federal employment.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Qualifications

Open to everyone. Must demonstrate experience or knowledge of recreational activities, rules, and procedures. Experience in clerical duties involving cash handling is required. Must be able to operate a computer, hold CPR & First Aid certification (or obtain within 45 days), and communicate effectively. Ability to lift 40 pounds, work weekends/holidays, and pass physical and background checks is required.
