Job summary

Norwichtown Rehabilitation & Care Center is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and creative Recreation Assistant to join our Therapeutic Recreation team. The role focuses on creating meaningful experiences that empower residents to continue doing the things they love.

Responsibilities include leading group and one-on-one activities, developing new programming, supporting outings and events, and expanding evening/weekend offerings.

Qualifications

• Creative and enjoys thinking outside the box
• Positive, dependable, and energetic
• Compassionate with excellent communication skills
• Comfortable leading small and large groups
• Organized and flexible
• Interested in making a meaningful impact everyday
• Experience in long-term care, recreation, education, childcare, hospitality, event planning, fitness, music, or customer service is a plus— training offered for the right attitude.

We're looking for someone who believes recreation is more than bingo it's about creating meaningful experiences, encouraging independence, building relationships, and helping residents continue doing the things they love.

• Encouraging resident participation and social engagement
• Assisting with holiday celebrations, themed events, and seasonal activities
• Helping expand evening and weekend programming to better meet resident needs

Schedule

Part-time with flexibility to include some evenings and weekends as we continue expanding programming opportunities for our residents.
