Job summary

CareOne at New Milford in New Jersey is seeking a Recreation Assistant to bring fulfillment and quality of life to our residents through engaging activities and programs. You will help plan and run group and individual activities for a geriatric population in a supportive environment.

The role requires a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, with prior experience in long-term care activities preferred and dementia activity experience valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Previous experience in a Recreation/Activities role in long-term care (preferred).
• Previous experience with dementia activities (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, and assist with activity programs for residents.

Job Duties

The Recreation Assistant will be responsible for bringing fulfillment and quality of life to our residents in this role as an Activities Assistant. Assist in planning and implementing group and individual activities for the geriatric population. Job duties can include but are not limited to:

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, and assist with the activity programs of this facility
• Participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings/weekends
• Previous experience in a Recreation/Activities position in long term care preferred
• Previous experience with dementia activities preferred
