Job summary

Norwichhtown Rehabilitation & Care Center is seeking a friendly Recreation Assistant to join our Therapeutic Recreation team. You will help plan and lead engaging activities for residents, from group sessions to one-on-one interactions, and support events that promote social engagement and independence.

We value creativity, dependability, and strong communication. This role offers flexible scheduling with some evenings and weekends to support expanded programs for our residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in recreation, education, childcare, or customer service preferred.
• Creative, energetic, and excellent communicator.
• Ability to lead groups and develop programming.

We're looking for someone who believes recreation is more than bingo—it’s about creating meaningful experiences, encouraging independence, building relationships, and helping residents continue doing the things they love.

Experience in long‑term care, recreation, education, childcare, hospitality, event planning, fitness, music, or customer service is a plus—but we're happy to train the right person with the right attitude.

Schedule

Part‑time with flexibility to include some evenings and weekends as we continue expanding programming opportunities for our residents.
