Position Overview

This position is assigned to the Recreation Division within the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department at Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC).

The role involves performing a variety of duties to support the MWR Community Recreation program, which may include organizing special events, command events, visiting ships or fleet support, community events, trips, tours, outings, managing rental equipment for parties and picnics, resale tickets, recreational green spaces, bowling, Liberty, grab-n-go services, movies, and outdoor recreation activities.

Qualifications

• Experience related to customer service and/or recreation activities.
• Ability to organize, plan, and manage special events and entertainment activities.
• Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of goals, principles, techniques, and procedures for organizing and conducting leisure activities.
• Understanding of the Navy MWR mission and the scope of Community Recreation activities suitable for various individuals, groups, ages, and interests.
• Knowledge of the functions, procedures, and operations involved in recreation activities.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain records, organize data for reports, and conduct research on recreation topics for customer dissemination.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Proficiency with computers, office procedures, and print production.
