Full Time Activities / Recreation Assistant for Memory Care

Join us as a Full Time Activities / Recreation Assistant for Memory Care at Benchmark Senior Living.

Position Details: Full-time, Tuesday to Saturday

Crescent Point at Niantic is seeking a Programming/Activity Assistant to organize and implement programs tailored to residents' individual needs. The role involves fostering psychological, intellectual, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being in a caring environment. The assistant supports the Activity Director in programming activities.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute engaging activities seven days a week.
  • Lead and facilitate one-on-one, small group, and large group activities as scheduled.
  • Encourage and support residents in independent activities.
  • Understand residents' backgrounds, needs, and abilities to tailor activities.
  • Motivate residents to participate in programming.
  • Report changes in resident behavior or condition to the Harbor Care Director.
  • Supervise group excursions at all times.
Requirements
  • High school diploma, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience; knowledge of aging and disability issues.
  • Training in recreational activities and dementia care.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding residents and staff.
  • Ability to multitask, positive attitude, works well under pressure.
