Job summary

Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry, Office of Management & Finance/Indian Creek, seeks a Grounds Maintenance Assistant for Indian Creek Recreation Area in Rapides Parish, Woodworth. Duties include grounds upkeep, cleaning facilities, assisting with reservations and fee collection, and supervising inmate labor.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in building maintenance, clerical work, custodial work, food service work, or groundskeeping.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to pass background check and obtain law enforcement commission to supervise offender labor.

Responsibilities

• Assist with grounds maintenance: mowing and trimming grounds.
• Picks up trash and fallen limbs before mowing.
• Maintain cleanliness of bathrooms, beach areas, camping sites, and recreation area.
• Report repairs to supervisor.
• Oversee and direct offender labor during shifts.
• Assist with reservations and the fee station, check in patrons, collect fees and explain rules.
• Distribute day passes and manage cash register as needed.
• Answer visitor questions and address concerns.
