Job summary

The City of El Paso seeks a Recreation Supervisor to oversee programming at a major recreation facility and aquatic clusters. A bachelor’s degree in recreation management or related field and two years of supervision experience are required; aquatic roles may require lifeguard certifications.

Responsibilities include planning activities, coordinating schedules, ensuring safety, supervising staff, and preparing reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in recreation management, physical education or related field, plus two years recreation supervision experience.
• Lifeguard certification, Lifeguard Management, and Certified Pool Operator (CPO) within six months of hire for aquatic positions.
• Texas Class C Driver's License or equivalent may be required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee administration of a major recreation facility and monitor budgets.
• Plan and implement organized recreational and aquatic activities for target groups.
• Supervise staff, enforce policies, and coordinate with vendors and contractors.
• Prepare reports, payroll forms, and records; liaise with community groups and departments.
• Other duties as assigned.
