Job summary

Merrimack County Nursing Home in New Hampshire seeks a Recreation Aide III to support residents with meaningful activities and lively engagement. You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to tailor programs for residents with dementia and other cognitive impairments, promoting wellness and participation.

Ideal candidates hold an associate degree in psychology, human services, or social work (preferred) and a valid NH driver’s license with a clean driving record; CPR/BLS certification

Qualifications

• Associate degree in psychology, human services or social work preferred.
• Experience working in a nursing home.
• Knowledge of MDS computer system or care plans and assessments.
• Notes of residents’ involvement or related education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to facilitate meaningful activities for residents.
• Provide resident-centered care by supporting residents to maintain the highest practicable level of function.
• Assist with assessments and documentation related to resident engagement and progress.

Our Recreation Aide III's collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and facilitate meaningful activities for the residents with an assortment of clinical diagnosis, including dementia and other cognitive impairments. Will provide resident centered care by assessing the needs and preferences of the residents ensuring that each resident is supported to maintain the highest practicable level of function and general wellness.

Associates degree from an accredited college or university with major focused in psychology, human services or social work preferred and experience working in a nursing home, knowledge of MDS computer system or experience with care plans and assessments and notes of residents’ involvements or any combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Valid NH Driver’s License required. Applicants must have an excellent driving record not to include any major motor vehicle violations. State of NH CDL Medical Card and CPR/BLS certification required. Initial and annual attestation required disclosing any motor vehicle violations. Must report any new violations immediately.

A drug screen & criminal background check will be required of all conditional hires.
