Job summary

The Heritage Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking an energetic Recreation Aide to enrich life for residents in our care community. The role focuses on planning and leading engaging activities, games, and social events designed to promote social interaction and well-being.

You will encourage participation, provide companionship for residents, and help create a warm, safe environment while supporting events and daily care routines.

Qualifications

• Experience in a long-term care setting or geriatric population preferred.
• Compassionate, patient, enthusiastic and dependable.

• Assist with planning and leading recreational activities, games, social events, and group programs.

• Assist with setting up and cleaning activity areas.

We are seeking an energetic, compassionate, and dependable Recreation Aide to join our team and help create meaningful and enjoyable experiences for our residents.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning and leading recreational activities, games, social events, and group programs
• Encourage residents to participate and remain socially engaged
• Provide individual activities and companionship when appropriate
• Assist with setting up and cleaning activity areas
• Support special events, celebrations, and resident outings
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and positive environment
• Complete required documentation and follow facility policies

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a long-term care setting or working with the geriatric population is strongly preferred
• Compassionate, patient, enthusiastic, and dependable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff
• Must be able to work the full Monday–Friday schedule
