Job summary

St Mary Center is seeking a Recreation Aide to join our team and support residents through engaging activities. The role is part-time, with a 9am-5pm shift and every other weekend, offering competitive rates and a comprehensive benefits package.

Applicants should be computer-literate (Word, Outlook) and have experience caring for elderly residents; dementia-care experience is preferred. Join us and contribute to a warm, caring environment.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Must be computer-literate with Word, Outlook and basic software skills.
• Experience with elderly and dementia-care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning and executing recreational activities based on the needs and interests of the residents
• Encourages social interaction and communication between the residents through group recreation, and community interaction programs
• Facilitates recreational programs on an individual and group basis
• Provides individual intervention to residents based on personal needs and conditions
• Records resident attendance and participation level at recreation programs, writes progress notes, and attends care plan meetings as necessary
• Assists in the upkeep, storage, and organization of the recreation department supplies
• Assists with admission assessments, MDS, care plans and progress notes
• Ensures that residents receive the highest quality of service in a warm and caring environment which recognizes the individuals' needs and capabilities
• Performs other related job duties as required

Recreation Aide Responsibilities
