Schedule: Flexible - No guaranteed hours - work 0-40 hours per week

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Cadet Pool, Air Force Academy, Colorado. This position does not include benefits. .

Key Responsibilities

Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons. Ensures that the swimming area is open to patrons at the scheduled times and that authorized persons only are admitted to the area. Rescues swimmers in trouble, promptly administers first aid, and calls for medical assistance if and when needed.

Warns swimmers of unsafe environmental or health conditions, ocean conditions of rough water or hazards, and recommends closing swimming areas until safe conditions prevail. When working at pools may operate water pumps and control chemical additives to ensure pool water meets specific standards. Ensures that diving boards are inspected frequently for cracks or loose matting, and that necessary repairs are made.

May perform other related or incidental duties as assigned for the daily operation of the swimming area to include: cleaning of bath houses, wading pools, main pools, pool decks, sunbathing areas, etc. Performs other related duties as assigned.
