Job summary

Air Mobility Command at Fort Dix is seeking a flexible, non-appropriated fund position with a 0-40 hour per week schedule. The role focuses on supervising pool areas to ensure patron safety and proper operations at Fort Dix.

Responsibilities include monitoring swimming areas, rescuing swimmers, administering first aid, and coordinating safety measures. Duties also cover pool maintenance, such as pump operation, chemical control, board inspections, and site cleaning.

• When working at pools, may operate water pumps and control chemical additives to meet standards.
• Dives boards inspected frequently for cracks or loose matting; repairs made as needed.
• May perform other related duties for daily operation of swimming area, including cleaning bath houses, pools, decks, beach areas, etc.

• Schedule: This is a Flexible Position (can work 0-40 hrs per week).

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Fort Dix.

Key Responsibilities

Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons. Ensures the swimming area is open to patrons at scheduled times and only authorized persons are admitted to the area. Rescues swimmers in trouble, promptly administers first aid, and calls for medical assistance if and when needed. Warns swimmers of unsafe environmental or health conditions, ocean conditions of rough water or hazards, and recommends closing swimming areas until safe conditions prevail.

When working at pools, may operate water pumps and control chemical additives to ensure pool waler meets specified standards. Ensures that diving boards are inspected frequently for cracks or loose matting, and that necessary repairs are made. May perform other related or incidental duties as assigned for the daily operation of the swimming area to include: cleaning of bath houses, wading pools, main pools, pool decks, beach areas, sunbathing areas, etc.

Requirements & Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
