Base pay range

$17.00/yr - $19.00/yr

Duties

1. Continuously observe the swimming area to ensure safety of patrons.
2. Ensure the swimming area is open at scheduled times and only authorized persons are admitted.
3. Rescue swimmers in trouble, administer first aid, and call for medical assistance when needed.
4. Warn swimmers of unsafe conditions and recommend closing swimming areas until safe.
5. Operate water pumps, conduct chemical evaluations, and control pool chemistry when working at pools.
6. Inspect diving boards for cracks or loose mats and perform repairs as needed.
7. Perform related duties such as cleaning bath houses, pools, and surrounding areas.
8. Work under the supervision of the Outdoor Recreation Manager/Director or Lead Lifeguard.

Requirements

• Complete a background investigation with favorable results.

Qualifications

Open to everyone. Applicants must provide proof of eligibility by the closing date (06/16/2025). Experience in swimming activities, rules, procedures, and safety equipment is desirable. Training and certification will be provided.

Evaluation based on competency in relevant areas. Education cannot be substituted for experience. Foreign education must be deemed equivalent to U.S. education.
