Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is hiring at the Tongue Point Job Corps Center in Astoria, OR for a part-time, 20-hour-a-week role. The position pays $17.20 per hour and involves coordinating recreational and youth-centered activities for center students.

You will monitor, plan, and direct student activities on and off center, foster engagement, and support career development services through positive peer leadership and role modeling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year experience working with youth required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and coordinate a diversified program that will attract voluntary participation.
• Chaperone students to recreation functions both on and off center.
• Plan and conduct various activities to enhance student retention and meet all students' needs.
• Participate in Career Development Services System (CDSS) by creating positive peer leadership and role modeling techniques.

What you will be doing: You’ll be responsible for monitoring, planning, and directing students engaged in center sponsored activities both on and off center. Put your fun and creative skills to use to teach healthy and fun extracurricular activities!

Essential functions:

• Plan, implement and coordinate a diversified program that will attract voluntary participation.
• Chaperone students to recreation functions both on and off center.
• Plan and conduct various activities to enhance student retention and meet all students' needs. Our rec center offers students a broad array of activities: arts and crafts, intramural sports, a movie theater, music room, game room, billiard room, racquetball court, and more -- plus a variety of outings to local activities and events.
• Participate in Career Development Services System (CDSS) by creating positive peer leadership and role modeling techniques through activities both on and off center.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• One (1) years experience working with youth required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
