Job summary

Management & Training Corporation operates the Sierra Nevada Job Corps Center in Reno, NV, seeking a dedicated staff member to engage students in center-sponsored activities. You will monitor, plan, and direct programs both on and off center, bringing creativity to healthy, fun extracurriculars while supporting student development.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, at least one year of youth experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year experience working with youth required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, plan and direct students in center‑sponsored activities on and off site.
• Deliver healthy and fun extracurricular activities to engage students.
• Plan, implement and coordinate programs to attract voluntary participation.
• Chaperone recreation events and support student retention.
• Collaborate with Career Development Services to promote leadership and role modeling.

What you will be doing:

You’ll be responsible for monitoring, planning, and directing students engaged in center sponsored activities both on and off center. Put your fun and creative skills to use to teach healthy and fun extracurricular activities!

Essential Functions

• Plan, implement and coordinate a diversified program that will attract voluntary participation.
• Chaperone students to recreation functions both on and off center.
• Plan and conduct various activities to enhance student retention and meet all students' needs.
• Participate in Career Development Services System (CDSS) by creating positive peer leadership and role modeling techniques through activities both on and off center.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• One (1) years experience working with youth required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
