Job summary

Baltimore County is seeking a Recreation Activity Center Leader to supervise and lead a broad range of programs at the Middle River RAC. You will plan, promote, and coordinate indoor and outdoor activities, working with participants, staff, and volunteers to deliver engaging programs.

The role requires basic first aid and CPR, plus valid ServSafe Food Handler certification within 10 months. The position may involve nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of experience as recreation leader or related field or teaching.
• Completion of at least 30 college credits from an accredited college or university.
• Valid CPR and first aid certifications required; ServSafe Food Handler certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, plan, promote, schedule, and evaluate a variety of recreation activities and events.
• Plan and lead indoor and outdoor activities across cultural arts, fitness, hobbies, performing arts, sports, and socialization.
• Meet with participants to determine leisure activity needs.
• Chaperone field trips and supervise program participants.
• Coordinate staff and volunteers; provide site supervision in the absence of RAC Coordinator.
• Provide basic first aid and respond to emergencies per protocol.
• Maintain attendance, incident, and food service logs.
• Assist in setup, operation, and cleanup of programs and events.
