Job summary

Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico, part of the Pyramid Global Hospitality portfolio, seeks a Recreation Activities Coordinator to create exceptional pool and beach experiences. You’ll lead water-sport lessons, ensure safety, and deliver friendly guest service in a vibrant resort setting.

You’ll plan engaging activities, maintain equipment, record progress, and collaborate with the team to uphold the resort’s high standards of hospitality on the oceanfront in Rio Grande.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Navigation license.
• Experience in a guest-service role.
• Ability to work on feet for extended periods.
• Effective communication skills.
• Capacity to lift, carry, and position loads of at least 25lbs.
• Availability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Instruction and Demonstration: Conduct lessons in water sports, including kayaking, paddleboarding, and others.
• Safety Management: Implement and enforce safety protocols to minimize risks during water sports activities, monitor weather and water conditions, and provide basic first aid when necessary.
• Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and maintain water‑sports equipment to ensure it is in good working order, report any damage, and facilitate repairs or replacements.
• Customer Service: Interact with participants in a friendly and professional manner, address inquiries, and foster a positive inclusive environment for all guests.
• Lesson Planning: Develop lesson plans that align with participants’ skill levels and goals, creating engaging and challenging activities.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of participant progress and attendance, and report incidents or hazardous situations following proper procedures.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team, attend regular staff meetings and training sessions, and assist with other departmental tasks as required.

About the role

We are looking for individuals with tremendous personalities, great attention to detail, and a passion for creating memorable experiences for guests through water‑sport activities. The Recreation Activities Coordinator will ensure that guests’ pool and beach experiences are outstanding and that safety and enjoyment standards are held to the highest level.
