Job summary

AtlantiCare in New Jersey seeks a Driver Recovery Coach to transport clients by van across residential, clinical, and medical programs, while helping with engagement and smooth transitions into care. The role is mainly daytime with possible evening overlap, contributing to quality customer service and team-oriented goals.

Requires a High School diploma, valid NJ driver's license, and recovery-specific training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid NJ Driver's License required; 18 hours Ethics/Peer Support Training and 46 hours Recovery Specialist training (CCAR) required. CPI required within 90 days of hire or transfer. CPI must be obtained by 7/31/2026 for current incumbents.
• Minimum 1 year of personal recovery and knowledge of the recovery process.
• Ability to recognize the elements of a client crisis and advocate for the client(s) if needed.
• Provides routine recovery check-ups through telephone support and respects cultural/ethical differences.

Responsibilities

• Transport clients by van for residential, clinical, and medical programs.
• Educate individuals on how to navigate treatment, social services, and recovery supports.
• Maintain relationships with individuals and families to support engagement and retention in treatment.
• Reinforce recovery messages and help build strengths, coping abilities, and resources.
• Assist in establishing a supportive social and physical environment for recovery.
• Provide on-call coverage and transport patients as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
