Position Summary

The Driver Recovery Coach is responsible for transporting clients by van for our residential, clinical, and medical programs. The Driver will also assist in client engagement and ensuring smooth transition into their program. This position is primarily during the day, but requires flexibility for evening programs if necessary. The role supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• License/Certification: Valid NJ Driver's License; 18 hours Ethics/Peer Support Training and 46 hours Recovery Specialist training (CCAR).
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of personal recovery and knowledge of the recovery process. Capability to recognize client crisis elements, advocate on behalf of clients, provide routine recovery check‑ups via telephone, and respect all cultures and ethnic differences.

Performance Expectations

Demonstrates the technical competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.

Work Environment

This position requires repetitive driving, motion, hearing, pushing, reaching, reading, seeing, speaking, standing and sitting for the majority of the time. The driver uses computer terminals, fax machines, copiers, and telephones. Essential functions are listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to department leadership.
