Job summary

Sojourner House, Inc. in Pittsburgh seeks two Full-Time Recovery Support Specialists to join our compassionate, faith-based recovery program for women and their children.

You will engage residents, model healthy coping skills, and assist with childcare and daily tasks while maintaining confidentiality and a professional demeanour. The role requires a high school diploma (two years paid experience) and PA driver’s license; certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least two years of paid experience.
  • Certified Addiction Counselor or Certified Recovery Specialist preferred.
  • Must have computer skills and ability to use MS Word/Outlook.
  • Act 33/34 clearances and FBI clearance required to work with children.
  • Valid PA driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Engage, interact and support women in our recovery program with professionalism.
  • Model and support health and wellness activities and coping skills.
  • Transport women to appointments as needed.
  • Assist with childcare and basic household management.
  • Handle confidential information discreetly and balance daily tasks.
  • Maintain a positive, solution-focused demeanor during conflicts.
  • Support organization's mission with cultural sensitivity and harmony.
  • Provide gender-responsive, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care.
