Job summary

Connections Health Solutions is seeking a Recovery Support Specialist – Training (RSS-T) to join a multidisciplinary team and help youth and adults build skills for lasting wellness. This structured learning path supports you toward the Virginia CRS credential while using personal recovery experience to inspire hope.

As an RSS-T, you’ll facilitate group and individual sessions, advocate for clients, and connect them with community resources, with a focus on trauma-informed care and safe,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of (or enrollment in) the DBDHS 72-hour Peer Recovery Specialist training.
• Minimum of 1 year of personal recovery or 1 year supporting a loved one.
• Registered with VA Board of Counseling and maintains registration during employment.
• Vaccination policy compliance and background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate or co-facilitate group and individual recovery sessions.
• Advocate for individuals throughout their treatment.
• Share personal recovery experiences to inspire and empower others.
• Promote trauma-informed care and reduce seclusion through strong therapeutic relationships.
• Connect individuals to community resources supporting recovery goals.
• Collaborate with a Multidisciplinary Team through care stages.
• Document all interactions in the EHR accurately and promptly.
• Lead or support daily programming and group activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support recovery services.
