Resources for Human Development (RHD) in Norristown, PA, is seeking a Recovery Specialist for the Montgomery County Methadone Center. The role focuses on peer-driven support, recovery planning, and linkage to community resources.

This on-site position demands dedication to helping individuals sustain long-term wellness. The successful candidate will have CRS certification, lived recovery experience, and a strong commitment to compassionate, person-centered care.

Qualifications

• Must self-identify as an individual with a serious mental illness who is currently or formerly a recipient of mental health services and/or substance use recovery services
• Valid Pennsylvania Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) Certification
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of two years of experience working with individuals in mental health recovery
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to travel locally for community outreach and engagement activities
• ACT 33/34 clearances, if required by program
• Pennsylvania PATCH clearance

Responsibilities

• Serve as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator for individuals in recovery
• Share appropriate recovery experiences to foster authentic peer support relationships
• Provide recovery support services, education, and advocacy
• Assist individuals in identifying strengths and using personal assets to advance recovery goals
• Support person-centered interventions and recovery planning
• Connect individuals with community resources, natural supports, and mutual aid groups such as NA and AA
• Provide relapse prevention education and recovery-focused guidance
• Facilitate engagement in treatment and recovery services
• Educate family members, staff, and participants on recovery-oriented practices
• Complete service documentation in accordance with agency standards and timelines
• Participate in community outreach activities and local program engagement efforts
