Job summary

Rushford Center, part of Hartford HealthCare, is seeking a Recovery Support Specialist in Middletown, CT. You will build trusting relationships with patients using your recovery experience to guide them toward IRP goals and community resources.

Responsibilities include coordinating housing, transportation, and social activities, linking clients with peer networks, and documenting progress while under supervision of a licensed clinician.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with significant relevant experience.
• Requires current CT driver's license and ability to qualify for Public Service License.
• Demonstrating peer support or mental health experience.
• Personal recovery experience and ability to obtain Peer Support Specialist certification.
• Willing to travel between Rushford sites, sometimes daily.

Responsibilities

• Assess client needs and develop an Individualized Recovery Plan (IRP).
• Provide recovery-oriented interventions to progress IRP goals.
• Educate the Clinical Support Team on client-centered approaches.
• Provide instruction and skills training in illness and recovery management.
• Engage clients with social activities and community resources; link with peer networks.
• Assist clients with housing, transportation, and community integration.
• Maintain program data, records, and progress notes as required.
