Job summary

Rushford Center, part of Hartford HealthCare, seeks a Recovery Support Specialist to use personal recovery experiences to mentor patients and build trusting relationships in addiction and mental health services in Avon/CT.

You will develop IRPs, assist with housing, transportation, and community referrals, and collaborate with the Clinical Support Team to support recovery goals across on-site and community settings.

Qualifications

• Requires current, valid Connecticut driver’s license.
• Peer support or mental health experience is preferred.
• Personal recovery experience is essential for the role.
• Willingness to travel among Rushford sites to transport clients as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess client needs and develop an Individualized Recovery Plan (IRP).
• Provide recovery-oriented interventions to progress toward IRP goals.
• Educate and consult the Clinical Support Team on client-centered approaches.
• Offer skills training in illness and recovery management to clients and families.
• Engage natural support networks and community integration activities.
• Assist housing supports with finding and retaining safe, affordable housing.
