Job summary

Region Ten CSB seeks a Community Outreach Engagement Peer Specialist, Re-Entry to provide recovery support to individuals transitioning from incarceration or court programs. You will work with partners to help consumers re-enter the community, using your own recovery experience to coach and support them toward stability.

The role requires a high school diploma (bachelor’s preferred), a 72-hour Peer Support Specialist training, and a valid Virginia driver’s license with an acceptable driving

Qualifications

1-year experience is preferred in a peer support role.
Personal experience in recovery is required.
Sustained personal recovery is recommended.
Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist preferred at hiring; must be obtained within 1 year.
Virginia Driver’s License with acceptable driving record required.
Personal automobile insurance must be provided for business use.

Responsibilities

Provide recovery support services to consumers currently incarcerated or in court programs.
Collaborate with community partners to assist transition back into the community.
Utilize life experience to coach and support consumers in their recovery.
Follow Region Ten policies and DBHDS guidelines; report to Program Manager of Recovery Support Services.
