Job summary

Region Ten Community Services Board is seeking a Community Services Associate- Peer Specialist in Charlottesville, VA. The role focuses on outreach to adults with mental health and/or co-occurring disorders, delivering peer support, and linking clients to overdose prevention and recovery resources.

You will train community members on overdose prevention, build relationships with local partners, and work with the Recovery Support Services team to ensure safe, effective care across the catchment

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of the 72-hr DBHDS Certified Peer Support Training preferred before employment.
• Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist required within first year.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support and recovery services to adults with mental health and/or co-occurring disorders in the Region Ten catchment area.
• Engage individuals and connect them to overdose prevention and treatment resources.
• Distribute overdose prevention supplies and train others in their use.
• Develop relationships with local businesses and community partners to expand access to services.
