Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Recovery Specialist in Newark, NJ to provide non-clinical support and help develop individualized recovery plans within a multidisciplinary team.

You will engage clients using lived experience to build trust, conduct screenings, document in EHRs, and coordinate with IFPR navigators to connect to community resources. This is a per diem, hourly role aimed at promoting recovery outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in recovery principles.
• Nationally Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (NCPRSS) or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Engage clients with non-clinical support and build trust.
• Conduct screenings and document in the electronic health record per IFPR guidelines.
• Create individualized recovery support plans based on needs and results.
• Connect clients with non-clinical services and community resources for recovery.
• Serve as a positive role model and maintain supportive relationships with clients and families.
• Educate individuals on navigating treatment and social services with hospital staff coordination.
• Empower clients to make self-directed choices about recovery pathways.
• Facilitate recovery support meetings and ensure accurate grant-related documentation.
