Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for the Recovery Room Evening Shift. The role supports the professional nurse, delivers safe, compassionate patient care, and helps maintain a safe environment consistent with NYU Langone Health Core Values.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, PCT or CNA credentials with hospital experience, and an AHA BLS/CPR certification. Training within 3 months is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program w/ at least 6 months hospital experience OR CNA graduate with EKG & Phlebotomy training.
• BLS/CPR certification required; online PCT program within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists the professional nurse in providing patient care and family support.
• Maintains supplies, equipment, and environment safety; helps with unit operations.
• Participates in unit Quality and Performance Improvement data collection (e.g., patient satisfaction).
• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge procedures per unit operations.
• Communicates clearly with patients, families, and staff to ensure responsive care.
