Job summary

Axess Family Services, Inc. is seeking a Resident Monitor for the Portage Area Recovery Center (PARC) in Ohio.

This part-time role (16-20 hours per week) oversees residents in a sober living environment, ensuring a safe, therapeutic setting and crisis intervention when needed. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and related recovery experience, plus strong communication and de-escalation skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Related experience in recovery or coursework related to addiction services preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a supportive recovery or crisis role preferred.
• Ability to model open communication, fair treatment, and conflict management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sober living environment and promote recovery skills with a caring attitude.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation when needed with supervisor consult.
• Establish trusting relationships with clients and maintain therapeutic boundaries.
• Monitor residents’ use of services and independence.
• Provide accurate daily shift reports.
• Participate in team planning, case reviews, and program goals.
• Attend agency and training meetings as requested.
• Comply with policies, COA regulations, and state/federal requirements.
• Provide overnight and weekend onsite staffing to ensure resident presence.
• Conduct regular residence walkthroughs to ensure safety and compliance.
• Monitor for substance use and report concerns to the Program Manager.
• Assist in incident response and complete required documentation.
• Observe and report relapse signs to Case Manager and Program Manager.
• Report maintenance or safety issues promptly.
