Job summary

Community Medical Services (CMS) is seeking a substance abuse Peer Support Specialist to guide individuals in recovery using personal experience. The role involves coaching, support, and engaging patients across CMS clinics and community settings.

You will contribute to a compassionate, fulfilling work environment with opportunities for professional development and training reimbursement. Occasional weekend or holiday shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have lived experience with a substance use disorder and be in recovery.
• Experience with substance abuse, serious mental illness, or general mental health.
• Valid driver license and clean driving record for 39 months.
• Peer Support or RSS training certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in identifying coping techniques, self-help strategies, and social support networks.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards.
• Draw from behavioral health experience in various client populations.
• Provide clinical support, including assessments, to special populations and projects.
• Promote harm reduction and recovery in group settings.
