Job summary

Belmont Comprehensive Treatment Center in Portland, OR, part of Acadia Healthcare, is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to assist patients recovering from opioid use disorders in an outpatient MAT program.

You will provide empathetic peer support, help navigate the continuum of care, and collaborate with a clinical team. Hours are Monday through Friday, 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, offering an early shift with a strong work-life balance.

Qualifications

• HS graduate or equivalent required.
• No previous work experience in field required.
• Direct experience in substance abuse through personal life experiences, instruction/internship or similar practicum through education or certification process.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support to clinically complex patients and validate their experiences.
• Engage patients at initial contact to expedite screening for the appropriate level of care.
• Advise and mentor patients to promote empowerment and engagement in recovery.
• Share coping techniques and self-help strategies to promote health and wellness.
• Coordinate linkage between patients, clinical team and community resources.
• Assist in acquiring housing, daily living skills and access to primary care.
