Job summary

Salem Comprehensive Treatment Center, part of Acadia Healthcare, seeks a Peer Support Specialist to assist patients in recovery from addictions and to bridge care across services. You will support individuals in developing skills to prevent relapse and navigate the continuum of care.

You will engage patients at first contact, provide guidance, and collaborate with the clinical team to connect housing, employment, and medical resources, promoting sustained recovery.

Qualifications

• HS graduate or equivalent required.
• No previous work experience in the field required.
• Direct experience in substance abuse through personal life experiences, instruction/internship or similar practicum required.

Responsibilities

• Provides peer support to clinically complex patients, drawing on shared experiences to validate and encourage recovery.
• Engages patients at the initial point of contact to expedite screening for appropriate care.
• Acts as advocate and mentor to promote empowerment and engagement in recovery.
