Job summary

Legacy Treatment Services Group seeks an Entry-level Peer Specialist to provide supportive peer counseling for adults in the SCIP program in Burlington County, NJ. You will help assess needs and advocate for appropriate, community-based care.

With a High School diploma and personal recovery experience, you will guide individuals toward wellness, teach coping strategies, and connect them with local resources. Variable schedule with some holiday work required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. AA/AS degree preferable.
• Must be a survivor of mental illness with a minimum of 1 year in recovery and knowledge of the mental health system.
• Expected to obtain CRSP certification (Certified Recovery Support Practitioner).
• Must identify as a person with lived experience of mental health or substance use concerns with no recent inpatient hospitalization for 18 months or more.

Responsibilities

• Talk openly about your own recovery journey to support consumers.
• Help consumers set personal wellness goals and daily life plans.
• Teach coping skills for stress and difficult emotions.
• Guide consumers to local health and community resources.
