This role focuses on sharing recovery stories, helping clients set goals, and connecting them to community resources. A state-approved training and certification process is required, along with a valid driver's license for transport

Qualifications

• Must self-identify as a current or former consumer of behavioral health, substance use, or co-occurring disorder services
• Must complete a state-approved training program, pass a standardized examination, complete certification process within 60 days of hire date, and maintain ongoing certification as a Certified Peer Specialist through the MO MO MCB (MCB MO)
• A valid driver's license and agency established minimum automobile coverage required

Responsibilities

• Share personal recovery experiences and model healthy coping strategies
• Support individuals in building confidence, resilience, and community connections
• Assist with goal-setting and navigating treatment and support systems
• Help individuals recognize and build on their own strengths
• Participate as a valued member of the treatment team
• Provide transportation support when clinically indicated; driving is an essential function of this position
• Provide on-call crisis intervention covering nighttime, evening and weekend hours
• Complete required state training, supervision, and certification processes (if not already certified)
