Job summary

BRC in New York City is seeking a dedicated Housing & Recovery Peer Advocate to support clients through housing and recovery goals. You will coordinate care, offer referrals, and liaise with community providers to expand access to housing, job services, and treatment resources.

In collaboration with the clinical team, you will educate clients in self-help techniques, teach coping strategies, and assist with attending appointments.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma/ GED and CRPA required.
• Experience in homeless services, substance abuse treatment, or mental health services.
• CPR training or willingness to take CPR.

Responsibilities

• Engage with clients in social services and case management to support housing goals and recovery.
• Serve as liaison between clients and community providers for housing, job assistance, and treatment services.
• Coordinate care with the clinical team for holistic needs of couples and individuals.
• Escort clients to appointments (e.g., HRA, Social Security).
• Educate about self-help techniques and coping strategies; help manage frustrations and anxieties.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
• Provide emergency first aid/CPR when needed.
