Job summary

BRC is seeking a full-time Peer Specialist to support New Yorkers experiencing homelessness by guiding clients, coordinating with a clinical team, and providing compassionate care during daily activities. You will assist with access to services, attend community meetings, and help maintain safety and well-being.

Ideal candidates have a H.S. diploma or GED, are Certified Peer Specialists, and may hold CPR certification or be willing to obtain it.

Qualifications

• Requires H.S. diploma or GED with Certified Peer Specialist.
• Knowledge of OASAS rules and regulations; maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• CPR training certification or willingness to take CPR training.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clinical team members and provide input as needed.
• Engage each client and provide guidance and advice.
• Spend time with clients during meals and recreation times.
• Escort and assist clients to appointments (HRA, Social Security, etc.).
• Attend community meetings and provide feedback to the team.

Skills

Bilingual (Spanish/English)

Basic computer literacy
