Job summary

Saint Francis Community Services, Inc. is seeking a Peer Mentor to support individuals and families pursuing substance use recovery within local communities.

The role involves in-home visits, transporting clients to appointments or inpatient programs, facilitating psychoeducational groups, and coordinating with partners to promote recovery. The position requires lived experience with substance use and one year of stable recovery, plus completion of KDADS peer mentor training within 3 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Lived experience with substance use challenges and one year of stable recovery.
• Complete KDADS peer mentor program within 3 months; Saturday training possible.
• Evenings/weekends availability may be required.
• Age at least 21; valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Strong written and verbal communication; teamwork and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Assist with incentive programs for active participation and program completion.
• Develop relationships with community partners and follow safety procedures.
• Transport clients to appointments and inpatient programs as needed.
• Facilitate psychoeducational groups related to substance use and healthy living.
• Provide in-home services for Seeking Safety as required; travel to client homes.
• Document sessions and calls in the SFMS HER system and maintain confidentiality.
