Job summary

Catholic Charities of Herkimer County is seeking a RISE Peer Advocate to support individuals and families navigating recovery and connecting with resources. You’ll help with treatment options, recovery planning, and community referrals in a compassionate, team-based setting.

The role offers Monday–Friday scheduling, hourly pay of $16.50–$17.50, and opportunities to lead peer-support meetings and contribute to program evaluations with local partners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1–3 years of experience working with diverse populations.
• Valid New York State driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals and families navigate treatment options and connect with community resources.
• Provide substance use intervention services using evidence-based practices.
• Schedule and facilitate peer-support recovery meetings and groups.
• Help individuals develop, maintain, and self-monitor their personal Recovery Plans.
• Model coping skills and encourage peers to learn and practice new strategies.
• Build positive relationships that encourage growth, recovery, and independence.
• Collaborate with community agencies and organizations to promote services and make appropriate referrals.
• Maintain documentation, statistical reports, program evaluations, and reporting for OASAS and funding sources.
