Job summary

ReDiscover is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to join our Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinic in Kansas City, MO. You’ll welcome clients, check them in, document accurately, and support recovery-focused engagement with resilience and hope.

You’ll work full-time on three 12-hour shifts per week plus one 8-hour shift every other week, with rotating weekends/holidays. Training, mentorship, and opportunities to grow are provided in a compassionate, mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have life experiences with a substance use disorder and/or mental illness and have received appropriate services.
• Must have completed the Missouri Credentialing Board Peer Specialist training and passed the certification exam.
• Must satisfy requirements for external community partners.
• Excellent customer service with a recovery focus; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes clients, guests, and visitors in a professional, respectful manner.
• Checks clients in upon arrival and maintains accurate documentation per procedures.
• Engages with clients, shares lived experience, and models recovery behaviors.
• Maintains cleanliness and a welcoming environment for clients and staff.
• Develops relationships with local community partners, including EMS and law enforcement.
